In the Canton of the Grisons, researching is a big theme, on the one hand to the (research) site itself and on the other within the institutions which are situated in the Grisons. From different departments (Nature- and Human sciences, Medicine, Theology- and Engineering sciences) numerous of Dissertations and Diploma works give a reference on that.

• The goal of YSC is, to concentrate the diversity of all the findings and to process every second year at an interdisciplinary academic (scientifically) conference.
• YSC has a competitive character and gives an award in the categories «best oral presentation» and «best poster presentation».
• YSC takes places as an «Associated Conference» of the International Disaster Reduction and Risk Conference IDRC of the Global Risk Forum GRF Davos.
• Organising Institutions: the following Institutions are supporting the YSC: Science City Davos (Initiator), Academia Raetica, IDRC/GRF Davos, Amt für Höhere Bildung Graubünden.
