Campus Davos - the campus for life-long learning and researching ![]()
The education and research place Davos has large potential and an unique initial position to be established as Europe's highest-altitude campus in an urban-alpine environment.
Five research institutes, renowned internationally, with approximately 400 persons employed in the research, two high schools (Gymnasiums) and a trade school, are taking the alpine city Davos into a singular position within the large destinations of the alps. A long-term goal is, to build up the campus for life-long learning and researching.
Events and research projects, education and advanced training projects on different education stages:
- Adult education project «Summer University Davos»: the summer university Davos takes up society-relevant topics and is obligated to the generation-spreading dialogue. Like that the oldest participant was 90 years and the youngest participant was 20 years old.
- Education project «Open Academy Davos» for students and doctoral students OAD: the OAD addresses itself to students and doctoral students and takes place in co-operation with the University of Cologne as well as the local research institutes. In an intensive study week the participants and the lecturers compile together a superordinate topic in lectures, exercises as well as discussions and present the results in the end at a public presentation. Optimal living and work place during this time are the premises of the boarding school Schweizerische Alpine Mittelschule Davos (SAMD).
