Science Coffee
- What is a Science Coffee? Science Coffees are a relatively new form to intensive the discussion between Science and Public. The dialog should advance one another’s understanding and give Science new impulses due to critical analysis. Often, the event takes places in a restaurant or coffee, at best in a book shop or library, but always in an informal surrounding. Generally a guest gives a start to the discussion in pointing out some provocative thesis. That both, public and scientists are involved comparably in the discussion, experienced moderators are looking for.
- Why a Science Coffee? The Davos Research Institutes do have the special wish, to intensive the dialog between the Public, Economics and Politics. Therefore, the concept of the «Science Coffee» is, to discuss with the Davos Public actual und social relevant research themes in a general, comprehensible form. In the spotlight will be themes, which are at the Research Institutes actual and/or are standing in relation to Davos. Science City Davos supports the Science Coffees.
